  "Cross Training"

Our "Cross Training" page includes race stories, thoughts and quotes, which we hope will help athletes reach their potential and live their life to the fullest.  Many successful athletes have discovered the importance of training not only physically,  but also mentally and spiritually. This page shares our perspective on these dimensions.

                                              Feel Like Quitting?

  • If you fall down 6 times-Get up 7. Remember, the more you try, the more chance you have of failure. But, no success can be found without getting out of our "comfort zone" and trying! Enjoy the adventures of life which come from trying new things.

  • "The greatest test of your character is what it takes to stop you. Successful people realize that the door to the room of success swings on the hinges of setbacks and opposition. The most noticeable difference between those who achieve and those who fail is seen in the area of perseverance. Everyone has disappointments. Every person faces roadblocks. The one who succeeds is the one who will not quit."

                                                                          -John Maxwell

  • "...Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint."

                                                                        -Isaiah 40:30-31

  • Although it took Thomas Edison 10,000 tries to find the right mixture of materials to develop the incandescent light bulb, he never quit. In fact, in his opinion, the thousands of tries that did NOT work, only brought him closer to finding the solution that WOULD work. His positive, persistent attitude is summed up in this statement:

"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up."

                                                                       -Thomas Edison
